Starting his professional career as one of the first intakes of students at Theatre Projects in the summer of 1997, Paul has gone on to become the head of lighting for a theatrical production company (Spats II), head of lighting for a satellite channel (Channel East) and head of lighting for the Scala night club in Kings Cross, before moving to Avolites Middle East. Locking back at his previous work experience, Smith says: "It looks as though I can’t hold down a job! It’s not as bad as it looks though. I just tend to get itchy feet and when I have achieved my goals within one company I move on to another who can help me further expand my horizons and help me learn new techniques."
