PCM also features the Lodestars to BGV C1 standard, with double brakes, each capable of stopping the full load. They provide double the usual hoist safety factor, with a chain safety factor of 10:1, plus four-position limit switches including emergency switches, 24V control, under/overload electronic protection and a slack chain detection device.
PCM's Award-winning Unibar winch system (PLASA 2003 Product Excellence) allows the quick and easy raising/lowering of lighting or suspension bars for scenery, with a motor-driven unit. Unibar is a flexible unit that can be installed onto any style of fixing or structure, including universal beams, trussing, channels and barrels, say PCM. A cost-effective alternative to the more sophisticated power-assisted winch sets, it is available in 250kg or 400kg models with single- or two-speed options. The entire Unibar unit is self-contained, with the GIS motor unit positioned on the end of the track. Single- or three-phase power options are offered, and a second mechanical brake is also available as an option.
Unibar supports either 3, 4 or 5 suspension cables, with suspension bar lengths of up to 15m possible. Ultimate top and bottom limits are contained within the motor. Unibar units can be positioned side by side, and the suspension bars can be at 200mm centres - a vital requirement for all theatres. The Unibar control panel can either be fixed to the wall or operated by hand-held remote.
PCM can be found on stand G69.
