PCM also features the VBG70/ BGV C1 Lodestar - a hoist with special safety features including double brakes - each capable of stopping the full load. They provide double the usual hoist safety factor, with a chain safety factor of 10:1, plus four-position limit switches including emergency switches, 24V control, under/overload electronic protection and a slack chain detection device.
The award-winning Unibar (PLASA 2003 Product Excellence) was designed by PCM in collaboration with Slingco. This new winch system allows the quick and easy raising/lowering of lighting or suspension bars for scenery, with a motor driven unit and can be installed onto any style of fixing or structure, including universal beams, trussing, channels and barrels and provides a cost-effective alternative to the more sophisticated power-assisted winch sets.
Finally, PCM will be showing its award-winning Pilewind winch (winner of a PLASA Product Excellence Award in 2002), designed for multipurpose theatrical applications. The winch is designed to raise and lower theatrical lanterns and stage props and can lift loads up to 250kg (550lbs). It is available in manual, pneumatic, electric or battery driven formats, operation is achieved simply by applying one of the hand tools to the main drive shaft with a 27mm hexagonal socket and drill to socket adaptor.
