Supernova One out to impress major global brands at PDD
UK - PDD, the premier product and service design innovation consultancy, has replaced the long-serving, drop-down projection screen in its London headquarters with an 84in dnp Supernova One, fitted with 23:23 High Gain screen material.

When the Company first moved into its new HQ in Hammersmith 15 years ago, the conversion from a former warehouse was carried out using many of its clients' products. And this included an ingeniously designed portable Deltascreen projection screen which was converted into an installed version.

But the 20 year old technology was now well past its sell-by date, and in conjunction with the overhead projector presented an image which was far from sophisticated.

"It was very old fashioned - really just an ancient bit of fabric," said Tim Court operations director at PDD. "We were using this screen for creative presentation purposes, as well as internal meetings and workshops, and it lacked sophistication.

"Since we work with major brands, the customers we entertain expect a company like us to have top equipment - and if everything is not working to perfection it can become irritating. It was time to step up."

A search of the internet led PDD to Paradigm Audio Visual, and since a demo rig was already doing the rounds in London, Court's team was soon exposed to a convincing presentation where it could compare the optical properties of the dnp Supernova - working against a 300W linear flood - with a conventional media display.

Since PDD is passionate about design, the screen not only needed to offer high visual acuity but the entire package needed to be stylish. And the sleek Danish design of Supernova One fit the bill 100%, with the image butting neatly up to the black velvet inner.

Working in combination with the existing ceiling mounted Sony 3000 lumen XGA projector in standard aspect ratio, PDD has received an excellent response from clients. "One of the key attributes is that unlike the previous drop-down screen, this display is static, precise and looks great."
