Pearce Hire has worked with Midland Sound & Lighting and Jools Holland's production team for several years and this was the second full winter tour for Jools Holland that they have been involved in.
The lighting rig complemented by on-site technical support included 18 Martin MAC 700 Profiles and 12 Robe Robin LEDWash 1200s. Additional fixtures included Robert Juliat Cyrano follow spots and a number of Studio Due CS4s purchased specifically by Pearce Hire to service the tour.
"Over the years we have formed a strong working relationship with Jools' production manager Andy Salmon, and LD Simon Chandler-Honnor," comments John Huson, project manager for Pearce Hire. "Because of this we were able to make recommendations including the introduction of the Robe Robin LEDWash 1200s. We invested in these lights last summer, and Simon was delighted with the results.
"We were also happy to make the investment in Studio Due fixtures to meet the tour spec. Simon also went with our recommendation of operating the show from a Chamsys MagicQ MQ100 Pro 2010 Console with a MagicQ Execute Wing. The final part of the package we supplied was distribution from one of our custom made 72 Way Moving Light Distribution Racks as well as a Green Hippo HippoCritter media server."
Supporting the production team with technical expertise on behalf of Pearce Hire was technician Richard Luke. "Having Richard as part of the tour crew enhanced our involvement beyond that of simply being the dry hire supplier. Richard was our on-site point of contact for the production team. He knows the kit inside out and provided peace of mind should any issues arise. As it happens, the tour ran incredibly smoothly," continued Huson.
Andy Salmon, production manager for the tour expands, "Pearce Hire have an excellent reputation for outstanding service and reliable kit. They are always competitive as well as being a pleasure to work with. We've had a relationship with them over many years and they have developed into a company that is a highly competent and capable supplier for our tours. I would say they are our supplier of choice for both indoor and outdoor events."
Pearce Hire's John Huson concludes, "We are focused on increasing our involvement in the touring sector as we head into 2013 and working with MS&L on the Jools Holland project has allowed us to demonstrate what we can offer both in terms of high end kit provision as well as incredible know how from our experienced team of technicians and project managers."
