On show from Philips Strand Lighting will be the NEO console, which has been enhanced with new wings and new Group Masters function
Germany - Philips Entertainment Lighting will be unveiling a broad portfolio of new creative tools for lighting designers as part of the group's immersive 'be inspired by light and create great experiences' stand concept at Prolight+Sound 2016.

From Philips Showline comes the SL HYDRUS 350, which will be launching live at the show. The first Platinum lamp-based luminaire in the originally LED product line, the SL HYDRUS 350 is a super bright hybrid moving light that is designed for the live event and TV market because of its small size and speed.

Feature-packed with a wide zoom range in each mode, the SL HYDRUS 350 offers a vibrant colour pallet and is loaded with all the tools a designer needs to create mid-air effects, clear and precise projection as well as seamless blended animated washes.

"We're really looking forward to launching the SL HYDRUS 350 at Prolight," says Martin Palmer, Philips Entertainment Lighting product segment manager. "It's taking the Showline product line in an exciting new direction with a Platinum-based light that still offers the fantastic tourable qualities of the rest of the range - super versatility with high output yet compact and lightweight."

The SL HYDRUS 350 will be joined by some of the latest Philips Showline products, including the SL PUNCHLITE 220, the SL STRIP 10IP, SL BAR 510 and the SL BEAM 300 FX.

Also on stand will be a new addition to the refreshed Philips Selecon PLprofile series, the PLprofile4 MK II. Much like the improved PLprofile1 series, the PLprofile4 MK II now offers boosted light output, superior colour consistency and brilliant beam quality.

The Philips Entertainment team will also be showcasing the latest additions to the Philips Vari-Lite product line - the VL4000 Spot and VL4000 BeamWash.

Having proved a hit since launching last year, the VL4000 BeamWash has joined such mammoth tours as AC/DC's Rock or Bust, with lighting and show designer Patrick Woodroffe commenting, "We were looking for powerful, bright lights that would work particularly well with no colour. We also wanted some more delicate effects, some tight beams and some hard edge source points. We chose a variety of fixtures including the new Vari-Lite VL4000 BeamWash, which in combination with the other lights gave us most of what we needed, in various permutations."

On show from Philips Strand Lighting will be the complete NEO Lighting Control system, with its new wings and 19-inch rack mounted playback unit.

"NEO has really been enhanced with the addition of these two Wings and the new Group Masters function to aid the design process. All of this adds to its already sophisticated media integration capabilities, which really are a must see" says Bill Richards, Philips Entertainment Lighting product segment manager. "We will also be demonstrating the 500ML console's latest software release with it connected to a virtual lighting rig."

The stand will see a strong video element this year with corresponding lighting show to offer visitors a fully immersive experience.

"This year our stand will be unlike any we've done before," says Philips Entertainment Lighting marketing manager Teresa Vallis. "We want to demonstrate that we understand and are inspired by light, giving us the platform to inspire others to create great experiences through the total lighting solution offered by our brands and product line."
