All latest innovations will be on display on the Philips booth at Prolight & Sound, Hall 11, location D.73, at the Frankfurter Messe in Frankfurt
Germany - At this week's Prolight & Sound, Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands will unveil three new Platinum lamps. The lamps are specifically tailored to the demanding requirements of the touring/stage, studio/theatre and DJ/club segments.

In the touring/stage market it is all about creating impact with powerful lighting, attracting the audience's attention to the right places at the right moment, from no matter which angle. The new Philips Platinum MSD 16 R lamp is a reflector lamp that further builds on the benefits of the current 15 R lamp in terms of compactness, but offers 18% increased brightness (16000 lumen at 330W) for increased impact. The lamp has been successfully designed-in the fixtures of both Clay Paky (Sharpy Wash 330) and DTS (Max).

To be able to trigger the right emotions when watching TV or movie productions, it is very important that the lighting on the film or studio set has the right level of brightness, colour rendering and colour temperature. The new Philips MSR Platinum 35 ST, with a color temperature of 6000K, a high colour rendering of 80 and an unrivalled brightness from a compact light source (54500 lumens) is the perfect solution for Studio/Film segment.

The Platinum 35 ST lamps can be used in the fixtures of Clay Paky (Alpha Spot QWO800 ST and Alpha Profile 800 ST), Elation (Platinum Profile 35 and Platinum Spot 35), PR Lighting (XR 800 Spot), Robe (MMX Wash Beam and MMX Spot) and Terbly (PT800S and PT800P).

The club scene is focused on energizing the crowd and therefore requires powerful light from compact moving-heads that rotate fast and create an uplifting ambiance. With a miniature arc size of only 0.9 mm, the new Philips MSD Platinum 2 R is "a compact reflector lamp system". The lamp features a high precision reflector and innovative burner filling, resulting in a bright and efficient light beam. The light output of a 132W MSD Platinum 2 R lamp is comparable with a MSD lamp of 300W, allowing to realize more than 50% energy savings.
