Germany - After a two-year hiatus, it was indeed a momentous day for the international electronic dance music community as the Berlin Loveparade finally rolled back into action on 15 July.

Taking place from 2pm until 11pm with a 2006 motto of 'The Love Is Back', it was an epic homecoming for the legendary event: 40 floats rumbled through the streets as 400 DJs from 18 different nations represented the rich diversity of the international electronic music scene. There were also 11 fixed stages to entertain the masses with the final rally taking place from 6pm on the two main stages located to the east and west sides of the Siegessäule where 15 DJs, including Paul van Dyk, Ricardo Villalobos, Tiësto, and Westbam rocked the crowd well into the night. The long-awaited Loveparade was back in Berlin where it was born in 1989. Pioneer provided all trucks and stages with Pro DJ gear - installing 55 new top-of-the-range DJM-800 mixers and 115 digital CDJ decks, including the very latest CDJ-1000MK3 and CDJ-800MK2 models. "It was a huge honour for Pioneer to play a part in the Berlin Loveparade," said Roland Glatter, manager for marketing services at Pioneer Germany. "And we hope that all the artists were happy with the digital DJ set-ups!"

Berlin is a city cherished for its vibrant electronic music scene, and as major players in the global dance music industry touched down during the weekend of the Loveparade the heat was transferred to the pre-parties and after-parties held at the local clubs. Here, among the many highlights, two outstanding parties - Tiësto's spectacular In Search of Sunrise 5 pre-party at E-Werk and the stylish Space after-party at 90° - were also supported by Pioneer.
