Belgium - Housed in a magnificent former bank building, the renowned Belga Queen restaurant in central Brussels is now under new management, and recently underwent a complete renovation.
An important part of the Belga Queen’s renovation was the provision of a new audio system. The new management was keen to match its investment in the refurbishment with an audio solution befitting of the venue’s high-end values, and engaged experienced AV specialists FOL Sound, Light and Vision to design and supply a system.
Iwan Fol of FOL Sound, Light and Vision recommended a system based on the CM-Series, Pioneer Pro Audio range of commercial loudspeakers. FOL has successfully deployed the CM-Series on many occasions, taking advantage of the range’s warm, sound and sleek design, to discreetly enhance the atmosphere of a number of high-end hospitality venues. The brief was to provide clear, high-quality audio throughout the ground floor, first floor and basement areas of the renovated interior of this 18th century building.
CM-Series draws on the brand’s heritage of making dynamic club speakers to provide aesthetically pleasing, space-saving systems that deliver outstanding audio in any venue no matter its layout. The range has quickly established itself as a go-to for a wide variety of international hospitality and retail spaces.
In the main ground floor area, FOL installed 42 x CM-C56T 6.5” ceiling speakers and 20 x CM-S56T 6” surface mount speakers, supported by five CM-510ST-K 10” subwoofers. On the first floor 11 x CM-S54T 4” surface mount speakers were installed. In the basement vault, FOL supplied three Pioneer Pro Audio XY-115S (15” reflex bass subwoofers from the manufacturer’s professional range) to reinforce the low end of an existing third-party setup for use in private functions where DJ sets would feature. The solution was powered by Powersoft amplification throughout.
