New technologies lead the way with Sunday's opening seminar - Out of Home Leisure Entertainment - considering the application of interactive and 4D technologies and the growing crossover between the themed attraction and theatre sectors.
This trend continues throughout the four days, with a range of technical seminars providing the core of the programme: sound system designers and operators of public spaces and transport networks will be interested in Intelligible Intelligibility - how to make PA and VA systems understandable and meet intelligibility standards, whilst those more focused on lighting can attend Lighting with LED - a session that addresses continuing developments in LED lighting and the way in which lighting designers are exploiting these advances.
A key part of the programme will be a series of Infocomm-sponsored technical talks on the subjects of Designing and Specifying Systems, Designing and Specifying Distributed Sound Systems, and Designing and Building Rack Enclosures for AV Equipment.
For those interested in specifying systems for places of worship, there's also a comprehensive strand of sessions on Technologies for Worship, ranging from building design to audio system settings, video and in-ear monitoring.
Several seminars have been confirmed covering business issues: Monday's seminar programme will open with Lighting the Fire under your Business which discusses the issue of motivation as a key component of profit building. Monday afternoon will see Employment Law Briefing - an update session on recent employment law changes and employee rights.
Outside of the official seminar programme, there are also a number of other technical discussions taking place, including a free Open Forum, led by BEIRG, on the impending sell-off of the RF spectrum.
