UK - PLASA 2009 marks Allen & Heath's 40th year designing and manufacturing innovative pro audio products for the live, recording and DJ spheres. The British mixer manufacturer will commemorate the milestone with an exclusive party in a top London landmark, and display a cross section of its current digital, analogue and DJ mixers on the stand. These include the flagship iLive digital systems ZED analogue range, and Xone DJ series.

The iLive digital family will be central to the display. Following the recent launch of RAB2, iLive's latest remote audio card, it is now possible to 'mix 'n match' the flagship modular iLive hardware with the iLive-T fixed I/O MixRacks and Control Surfaces, increasing hire inventory flexibility and system integration.

RAB2 enables iLive digital mixing systems to work with a variety of common audio interface and networking standards. The new module has two front-loading, easy fit slots for plug-in options, which are auto-detected by the system firmware. The first port allows alternative standards for connecting the iLive MixRacks and Control Surfaces, while the second port is used for system expansion, such as linking to secondary FOH/monitors consoles, feeding broadcast mixers, and record sends/returns.

RAB2 audio interface modules include the Mini Multi-Out for ADAT, Aviom, iDR 8-bus and Hearbus, an EtherSound network card; Allen & Heath's proprietary ACE (Audio and Control over Ethernet) 64 channel bi-directional link; and the new MADI 64 channel multi-link card.

Allen & Heath will also be exhibiting the new XB-14 compact radio broadcast mixer, equipped with features specifically for broadcasters, including Telco inputs for easy interfacing to telephone contributions, mic fader start sensing for external connection and internal automatic muting of the speaker outputs, stereo channel start/cue outputs for CD deck transport control, multiple headphone outputs, and an additional stereo bus (Mix B).

There will be a selection of ZED compact USB-equipped mixers for live performance, recording and production, including the entry level ZED-14, ZED-22FX with in-house designed effects, a model from the versatile ZED 4 bus series, and the MIPA award-winning ZED-R16 Firewire recording mixer.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Xone brand, all products in the range are now manufactured in the new storm grey colour scheme. The Xone area will have various models on display, including the new entry-level Xone:22, coveted Xone:4D mixer/controller, and industry-standard Xone:92 mixer and Xone:1D MIDI controller.
