PLASA 2019: Robe Esprite set to debut
- Details
The luminaire, which incorporates a new type of LED light source and outputs 27,000 lumens, is set to debut at the upcoming PLASA Show (15-17 September, London Olympia).
Designed as an LED replacement for discharge fixtures, Esprite is the first in a new series of Robe luminaires to feature the company’s 650W WTE (White Transferrable Engine) white LED light source, a replaceable/transferable engine that promises to eradicate issues such as unpredictable lifecycles and other performance inconsistencies.
The LED module also holds a host of data in addition to date, serial number and usage, which can be accessed via a free mobile app.
Other design features in Esprite include a new cooling system that removes any airflow over the optics, resulting in reduced residue deposits and extending the periods needed between cleaning sessions. Meanwhile, a 5.5°-50° zoom range provides a flat-field beam, which combines with smooth CMY colour mixing, fast bumping colour wheels and a coloured prism for “a new level of effects and animations”, says Robe.
Also included are an animation wheel, variable CTO, two-colour wheels, rotating and static gobos, a six-facet rotating prism, and a selection of 1° and 5° frosts.
Alongside a set of framing shutters and LED ‘adjuster tools’ like C-Pulse flicker-free management for optimisation with the latest HD and UHD cameras, the unit also has L3 (low light linearity) dimming to handle demanding performance conditions.
