The nine members of the executive committee play a critical role in driving the numerous initiatives undertaken by the Association. Industry certification schemes, a Manufacturers Forum, a major membership restructure and maximizing opportunities related to the Olympics are just a few of the projects currently in discussion.
Committee members come from all sectors of the industry, but have in common a determination to develop and shape the strategic direction of the Association, helping to create a positive business environment for the membership.
Matthew Griffiths, chief executive of PLASA, commented: "It's always encouraging to see interest in the future of the Association reflected in the number of nominations received. We appreciate that individuals are making a significant commitment to PLASA - representing both time and effort away from their own companies - but everyone that becomes involved makes a substantial difference."
The committee meets 12 times a year, usually in London, and members may also be invited to join or chair advisory groups. Nominations close on Tuesday 15 November with the election papers, including a 200-word résumé on each candidate, mailed to all Full Members of the Association on Friday 18 November.
