UK - LED lighting pioneer Litepanels will be demonstrating its expanded line of Sola and Inca LED Fresnels with the new Sola 12 and Inca 12 fixtures, at PLASA London 2013 from 6 to 9 October.

The daylight balanced Sola 12 and tungsten balanced Inca 12 are designed for lighting designers and cinematographers seeking alternative to traditional 2K incandescent Fresnels. The new fixtures encapsulate energy efficiency and outstanding quality of illumination, says the company.

"The revolutionary Sola 12 and Inca 12 have begun shipping to customers worldwide and have already been exceeding customer expectations," says Chris Marchitelli, vice president global marketing, Litepanels. "This is our first time exhibiting at PLASA and the first time we will be demonstrating the final production optimised fixtures since their launch. This show provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase their performance. To fully appreciate the power and light quality of these fixtures, they really need to be seen first-hand, and PLASA is the ideal venue for reaching top lighting professionals. "

Rather than retrofit old lamp designs to fit an LED emitter, Litepanels has re-imagined the traditional Fresnel from the ground up to take full advantage of what LED technology has to offer. Low power consumption and low heat emission means that acrylic lenses can be used with finer concentric rings. This results in a smooth, even and collimated beam producing a wrap-around soft light quality, while still producing a controllable single shadow. Pole op focusing, scrims and dimmer racks are a thing of the past with a focus range of 50 to 15 degrees and the ability to dim smoothly from 100 per cent to 0, both controllable through integrated DMX or manual controls.

The Sola 12 also offers high CRI and visually accurate daylight balanced output due to the high quality, full spectrum light produced by Litepanels' custom-built LEDs. Similarly, the tungsten balanced Inca 12 is colour matched to existing incandescent fixtures.

The Sola 12 and Inca 12 are extremely energy efficient, each drawing only 350 Watts (less than 18 per cent of traditional 2K fixtures). They require no heavy ballast, provide comfortable glove-free operation, and are flicker-free at any frame rate or shutter angle.

The range of Fresnels brings cost savings to any studio, demonstrated by the fact that six Sola 12 or Inca 12 fixtures can share a single 20-amp circuit, and the minimal heat generated reduces air conditioning needs.
