UK - PLASA Show 2020 is moving to London Olympia's Grand Hall, PLASA has announced. A scheduling change has also been made, with the 2020 event taking place on 6-8 September 2020.
The Grand Hall is the largest exhibition space at Olympia and the Show's move highlights its return to form since returning to west London in 2016. PLASA reports that the event has grown year-on-year both in terms of exhibitor and visitor numbers, and this latest decision has been taken to ensure the ability for future expansion of the show.
Sophie Atkinson, PLASA head of events, comments: “With the exciting redevelopment happening at Olympia over the next few years the opportunity has arisen for us to move the PLASA Show to the Grand Hall from 2020 onwards. This is a great opportunity for the show as it allows us to ensure all exhibitors are on a single floor and gives a greater number of stands more rigging height above them.”
PLASA MD, Peter Heath, adds: “Moving to the Grand Hall gives huge potential for the show to continue its growth, allowing the chance for exhibitors to take larger spaces as well as being able to welcome more new exhibitors. The reinvigoration we have seen for the show since we returned to our spiritual home of West London combined with the huge popularity of our PLASA Focus events has provided us with this opportunity. With this new location within one of the most prestigious events centres in London, we can ensure a sustainable future in our long-term home.”
The 2020 edition of the PLASA Show will see it return to its traditional scheduling of 6-8 September, which PLASA believes to be an advantage for broadcast sector visitors and exhibitors as it removes any potential schedule clashes with Amsterdam's IBC.
“Moving the dates of the event back to our original schedule will be a huge positive for visitors and exhibitors,” explains Heath. “As a global event that brings an international crowd to London, we do our best to ensure that our reach is as wide as possible. Avoiding the direct clash with an equally important international event will help us to ensure that we attract the broadest possible section of visitors and exhibitors.”
Before the move, the PLASA Show will have one final outing in Olympia’s National Hall on 15-17 September - find out how to book your ticket here: www.plasashow.com.
