New technologies are right at the top of the bill with Sunday's opening seminar presented by Kevin Williams, director of out-of-home leisure consultancy KWP Ltd. Out of Home Leisure Entertainment will look at the application of interactive and 4D technologies and the potential for crossover between the worlds of themed attractions and theatre, including the latest generation of projection and audio systems.
Sunday afternoon will see GMTV's lighting director, John Allard, address the rapidly expanding topic of LED lighting. In Lighting with LED, a host of subjects is scheduled for discussion including colour rendition, beam control, new thin film technology, energy savings and new LED developments - issues many of today's most innovative lighting designers are currently exploring.
The show's affiliation with Infocomm, reflected in the all-new Integrated Systems and Technologies Area, also features in the seminars with a series of Infocomm-sponsored technical talks on the subjects of Designing and Specifying Systems, Designing and Specifying Distributed Sound Systems and Designing and Building Rack Enclosures for AV Equipment, presented by some of the world's leading experts in system integration.Renowned acoustician Peter Mapp will discuss a topic of great importance to both sound system designers and operators of public spaces and transport networks - Intelligible Intelligibility - how to make PA and VA systems understandable and meet intelligibility standards.
Two seminars have been confirmed covering critical business subjects - from very different perspectives. Heather Wright, of management consultancy Advance - whose clients range from Freddie Flintoff to Adidas and from Alliance & Leicester to Bolton Football Club - will open Monday's seminar programme with Lighting the Fire under your Business by discussing the all-important issue of motivation and performance enhancement training as a key component of profit building.
Monday afternoon sees Clive Payne of human resources consultants CP Associates brief delegates on recent key employment law changes, new obligations for employers and employee rights - covering contracts, age discrimination and disputes and dismissal. Employment Law Briefing will include a Q&A session so that delegates can make full use of the invaluable expertise on hand.
PLASA Show director Madeleine Marston comments: "Feedback from last year's seminar programme has pointed to many key areas people would like to learn more about and we're reflecting that in the programme for PLASA06. The exciting line-up of speakers and topics we're announcing today will be expanded still further in the coming weeks."
The seminars will take place on Level 2 in the Integrated Systems & Technologies area and will be priced as competitively as previous years. Further information about the 2006 Seminar Programme can be found on the PLASA Show website.
