Allen & Heath took the opportunity to announce its distributor of the year, which was awarded to Audio-Technica in Germany, before introducing special guest, former MD Neil Hauser, who headed up Allen & Heath from the company's inception in 1969 until 1988. Current MD, Glenn Rogers, took the helm in 1990.
"It would not be an exaggeration to claim that I have witnessed innovation on a daily basis at Allen & Heath since I started as a junior engineer in 1983," stated Rogers. "For 40 years, the company has maintained a philosophy of listening to customers and striving to provide the products that will enhance sound quality and user productivity. We work in an industry that is creative and emotive, and Allen & Heath's success is down to the passion, skill, dedication and enthusiasm of its team."
A testament to this success is the iLive digital range, which was the focus of Allen & Heath's PLASA stand. iLive's design ethos is centred around a series of MixRacks providing the core audio processing capability, and offering myriad control options from a simple laptop loaded with iLive Editor control software to the fully spec'd iLive-176 Control Surface.
Following the recent launch of RAB2, iLive's latest remote audio card, it is now possible to mix 'n match the flagship modular iLive hardware and iLive-T fixed I/O MixRacks and Control Surfaces, plus, archived show data files are compatible across systems. A range of option modules enable iLive to easily interface with a growing number of audio networking standards.
