"Although the turnout may have been lower than previous years - which is to be expected in the current climate," says sales director, Lionel Garraud, "we noticed a marked improvement in the quality of visitors who came to discuss serious projects. Several new dealers will be appointed as a result of meetings at PLASA.
"One interesting development is the increased demand for extra followspots we have received from rental companies. This seems to be a direct result of the global financial downturn. Consequently, we will be very busy fulfilling our customers' requirements between now and the end of the year, with Victor and Cyrano proving especially popular."
The Robert Juliat Horus Cyclight was a big success at the PLASA, the company reports, especially amongst British customers. This 650/1000/1250W tungsten Cyclight was reintroduced at ProLight&Sound in Frankfurt earlier this year as a result of customer demand, having been remodelled and updated to make it more efficient and easy to use.
Horus, along with the 5kW Le Cin'k Fresnel, have caught the interest of the larger theatres and rental companies and are set to keep Robert Juliat hard at work with many demonstrations planned across the UK and the rest of Europe in the coming months, the company says.
Robert Juliat's new sales brochure was also well received and can be downloaded from the website at www.robertjuliat.com. "In all, we found the show to be a very good experience for Robert Juliat," concludes Garraud.
