The lift is designed for those requiring a quick set-up for their line array. The PA is loaded directly on to the forks of the lift, cranked up and in a matter of minutes the system is suspended from the lift and ready to play. The lift has a transport weight/height of just 95kg/1.7m so is easy to transport.
The TL-A220 incorporates the ALS (Auto Lock Security) a system patented by VMB 12 years ago, and now a standard in most of its lifts. The ALS automatically locks the lift in place, releases all the pressure from the cable and guarantees the load will not fall.
Says VMB: "With any other conventional frontal load lift the further along the forks the load is placed the less the lift can support, for example at half a metre conventional lifts lose 30% of their load capacity. When lifting a line array you need to be able to curve your array. For this reason the line array needs to be at a distance from the body of the lift so that it does not touch the profile and so the user can create the desired angle. The TL-A220 can lift the 220kg from half a metre out: This gives the user the chance to curve their array whilst not compromising the 220kg safe working load."
The lift also comes with lateral support and rear support bars as standard which provide further stability. The outriggers have also been carefully designed to add support and accommodate Sub Bass cabinets at ground level below the flown top cabinets. The TL-A220, like all VMB lifts, is BGV-C1 certified.
