The convention offers a three-day conference programme with around 70 presenters speaking in four parallel tracks on Lighting Application Case Studies, Research, Daylighting and Sustainability, and Professional Practice Issues. A special forum for clients and designers will provide a basis for project discussions.
Also, on the occasion of the PLD Convention 2009 in Berlin, the New York City street luminaire will be presented to the public for the first time. Initial test results after a trial installation in New York will be presented at PLDC in Berlin. Public clients looking to invest in energy-efficient lighting systems are expected to be attending PLDC 2009 to learn more about the potential of future-oriented urban and street lighting and acquire competent advice from qualified professionals.
LED technology will be the subject of broad debate and discussion at the Convention. Further international associations supporting the event include CIE, LUCI (Lighting Urban Community International) and many more. Also leading universities in the field of Lighting Design and at least 24 manufacturers have committed to this event.
