The theatre's Big Hall offers a capacity of 600 seats while the Studio provides variable seating arrangements for up to 150 people. When the time came to upgrade the audio system in the Big Hall in keeping with the facility's status as a reference venue for musical productions, theatre management turned to renowned installation company and Lab.gruppen distributors, MediaTech.
MediaTech's technical manager, Miroslav Paciga, is no stranger to the facility, having installed the original system, and then an upgrade to that some ten years ago. "The original system was a very good one for its era," noted Miroslav, "but it had served its time, and a building such as this deserves the best, so it was time to replace it."
MediaTech opted for an Adamson SpekTrix compact line array for the main system, supplemented by a combination of Renkus Heinz cabinets for surround sound, stage monitors and sound effects. The entire system is driven exclusively by Lab.gruppen; namely three PLM 10000Q powered loudspeaker management systems with integrated Lake Processing for the main Adamson system, and three powerful four-channel C 68:4 amplifiers from Lab.gruppen's installation-dedicated C Series handling the rest.
"The PLMs with integrated processing were a perfect choice to drive the Adamson system," commented Miroslav. "The SpekTrix 'Fingerprint' is already in the LoadLibrary presets, so there was only a minimum of configuration to do to get the system sounding perfect. The theatre wasn't looking for a classic rock 'n roll system, but it had to be powerful enough to handle live music with hi-fi quality. The Adamson/PLM combination is an ideal solution. As for the C Series, they deliver rock-solid power in an astonishingly compact format - in my view, their power-to-size ratio and high channel density makes them among the best value amplifiers in the industry."
