A NEXT-proaudio sound system has been installed within the church's main sanctuary
South Korea - Pohang city is located in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, about 300km far from Seoul to the southeast. The city is well-known for steel making with three leading manufacturers based there.

In addition, there are some old and very important churches in Pohang. Among these is Pohang First Presbyterian church which is over 110 years, founded in 1905. In the beginning, they had a small space for worship, they moved to the current place, and built a new building in 2007. For preparation of 110th anniversary celebration in 2015, they started the renovation including the sound systems from last September.

The size of the main sanctuary in Pohang church is 37m by 30m and the capacity is 2,500 seats.

Avix, the Korean distributor for Portuguese manufacturer NEXT-proaudio, recently installed a NEXT-proaudio sound system within the church's main sanctuary, the main aims of the installation being to achieve high sound pressure levels with high sound fidelity and good speech intelligibility throughout the venue.

Ten NEXT LA12 line array speakers in an ivory finish were chosen, with four NEXT LAs218 subwoofers for the main hang on each hang for the left and right side over the stage. Four LAs218 was flown behind LA12 cabinets. Four X12 full-range speakers were used as front-fills and choir-fill with eight X8 for under balcony and X10 for upper balcony. Four LAm112x were placed as monitor speakers. Five NEXT MQ10000 amplifiers powering the main speakers (low and medium frequencies), five MA2300 amplifiers for main speakers High Frequencies and four MD14000 amplifiers were also used for subwoofers with four DP260 and one DP240 DSP processors. For all upper and under balcony systems were used two MA2300 and two MA3200 amps power and one MQ10000 for monitor.

At the church's request the whole system has also been custom painted in Ivory colour to match its design.

For the installation and tuning, Antonio Correia who is the CEO and R&D manager of NEXT-proaudio flew from Portugal with sound engineerTiago Correia, and they completed the installation and tuning. According to Antonio Correia, "The system serves perfectly for worship services. It performs well at any level and is consistent."
