Ireland - The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) based in Dublin, is a state agency which provides a range of professional services to the local government sector across Ireland. Working collaboratively with all of Ireland’s 31 local authorities, the LGMA supports the co-ordinated and cost-effective delivery of local government services and policy.
In a bid to improve the quality of communications in its boardroom, a multi-function space, LGMA recently set out to improve the audio element of its existing system with a new delegate wireless microphone solution, as well as adding further sound reinforcement to enhance the auditory experience of Teams meeting/conference participants.
An open government tender resulted in IT support and solutions specialists Bytek Office Solutions securing the contract for the work. With more than 35 years' experience in the field, Bytek has a distinguished reputation for helping its clients make the most of their IT and AV estates. Prior to submitting its bid, Bytek consulted closely with Polar to run preliminary (and successful) testing.
A spokesperson for LGMA comments: “We wanted a flexible audio-visual solution for in person and hybrid meetings which would deliver quality audio to all participants at meetings whether they were present in the room or online. It had to be wireless, as apart from a podium, there are no fixed locations in the room. Bytek recommended the solution put forward by Polar which fit all of our needs.”
Bytek worked closely with the Polar Integrated Solutions team for the duration of the installation, with the latter providing design support, test equipment, on-site commissioning and technical support for the delegate microphone component of the solution which features Vissonic, Cornered Audio and ClearOne.
LGMA concludes: “We are very happy with the solution. Both Bytek and Polar were excellent to work with. They appeared on site exactly as and when agreed and ensured that the solution worked as expected. After the initial installation, any queries we had were addressed promptly.”
