According to owner of the company, Jurek Taborowski, the concert, which was organized by Stoleczna Estrada, saw the sound specialists provide a system, driven by Powersoft K Series amplifiers, to satisfy an audience of 200,000 people on the square near Stadium Narodowy in Warsaw.
"We decided to use 64 Powersoft K10 amps to drive a 96 JBL Vertec cabinets (low, mid, high) and 32 Powersoft K20 amps which powered 88 (2 x 18") subs. That's a gigantic amount of power - but the concert was performed live, and the Square is a huge space.
"We knew that the 15-minute firework show would bring in a lot more people, so we had to have an adequate supply of power."
In the event around 200,000 people turned up - according to the police - the biggest audience ever for a New Year event in Poland - and the media had nothing but praise for the technical achievements.
The amount of power was more than sufficient, he said, due to the extraordinary efficiency of the sound system and technical expertise of the GigantSound Letus team.
Performing on stage were Polish rock stars T.Love, Aformental, Big Cyc etc, along with British singer John Newman with his band. "We had more than 1.2 million watts of green Powersoft audio power, fed from two 500 kW generators and one 220 kW generator on delay lines," continued Jurek. "This dramatically affected the dynamic and sound quality across the huge square."
