Commenting on the new series, PR Lighting chief R&D engineer, Steve Tulk, stated: "The PR-5000 Spot, Beam, and later the Wash [which is yet to be released] comprise the beginning of PR Lighting's third generation series of moving heads.
"We analysed the strengths and weaknesses of our mature product lines and designed the PR-5000 series with those in mind. Among the list of achievements in this new series are: a carefully chosen set of functions, very high light output, amazing zoom range, faster and quieter movement, improved cooling system and improved reliability. We feel this series fits the bill perfectly for lighting designers needing higher power units."
Other features of the PR 5000 Beam include a 6° beam angle, fast strobe (with 0.3~25 F.P.S double strobe/shutter blades), DMX wireless receiver, and is firmware updatable through a computer.
The fixture also boasts CYM colour mixing plus seven dichroic colour filters and linear CTO; six indexable high-speed rotating gobos and seven easily-interchangeable fixed gobos; DMX controlled focus; linearly adjustable dimmer, and iris; three-facet prism and tetragonal prism (bi-directionally, rotatable, indexable); linear frost; optional DMX512 wireless signal transmitter; input signal isolating protection; energy saving function of the ballast; built-in analyser for easy fault finding and error messages; set-up options by internal rechargeable battery (without power connection), and modular construction for easy maintenance.
The PR-5000 Spot features wide beam angle, combined with the integrated DMX wireless receiver, a fast strobe and the capability to update the firmware through a PC. It also contains 10°-67° linearly adjustable zoom and double strobe/shutter blades (0.3~25 F.P.S).
Both fixtures are now shipping.
