UK - Following the successful launch of its PF Talks podcast from Strawberry Studios in Manchester, Production Futures has expanded the format to include in-person interviews from a new facility at the FIX8Group HQ, also in Manchester.
Whilst retaining the former studio for conducting and broadcasting remote interviews, the new larger set can accommodate multiple visitors for live and recorded chat, adding significantly to the breadth of content offered to young people and newcomers to the production industries. PF Talks is a series of interviews with inspirational professionals around the world who work across the whole spectrum of the entertainment production industry, particularly those committed to making a real difference to newcomers by ‘paying it forward’.
Hannah Eakins of Production Futures comments: “PF TALKS is a popular feature of all our live events, and since expanding it to a podcast series, it has proved immensely popular and engaged a wide constituency of young people. Expanding the format to include in-person interviews with leading industry figures enables us to maintain the continuity of our YouTube channel output in between our On Tour shows. This is a hugely valuable resource for youngsters who are able to gain insights and receive answers to their questions from professionals who are seriously invested in helping to bring through the next generation.
“We’re hugely grateful to FIX8Group, Wavecast and ChamSys for supporting this initiative by providing us with the space, and also to Chauvet Professional, who continue to demonstrate their commitment to our initiatives by generously supplying us with a range of kit which enables us to present our channel in a fully professional light.”
Chauvet supplied the PF Talks Studio with five onAir Panel Min IP LED soft lights, two Ovation CYC 1 FC, and four COLORdash PAR H7X. Chauvet Professional’s Alex Pole comments, “Our industry needs to attract young people and highlight the hidden pathways and roles inside this varied and exciting sector. PF has been instrumental in allowing the industry to connect with school leavers and students to highlight different career pathways on offer.
“The PF podcast is the next step to allow PF to connect with an audience wider than the successful PF On Tour events. This platform is going to enable industry-leading professionals to share insights about how they got started and how they see the industry progressing. By supporting the studio, we hope this new platform is going to help inspire more people to take a look at what we as an industry have to offer.”
The next special guests on PF Talks are lighting designers Elliot Baines and Ed Warren.
