UK chief executive, Martin Locket, says: "Our name says exactly what we do. We are a Group of specialists who provide technical equipment, services and Resources to four key Production markets: Concert Touring, Theatre, Television / Event & Corporate. We have industry recognised specialists within our team in the UK, in Lighting, Rigging / Automation & Video. Within our European group we also have expertise in Audio. This is not a 'one stop shop supplier', where there might be a primary specialisation with the other services tacked on. We uniquely have the team within the UK to be able to provide combined services, with a respected expert in each field, beside a single point of contact for each project."
PRG says it expects this multi-discipline service to form a growing portion of their customer demands this year but is still also focussed on providing clients with us a single technical discipline if they prefer.
All of the customer-facing teams at Production Resource Group remain unchanged and based in the same locations in Birmingham, London, East Molesey and Maidstone. Although broadening its services, the group stresses that it remains set up to deal with small shows and dry hires as well as large productions, with the same emphasis on level of service and equipment quality.
UK COO Gary Boyd, added: "We have a vast range of hire equipment across our global bases. We are able to call on this equipment when we require it. Our building at Longbridge is the largest lighting warehouse in the world and is our main UK equipment base. We are also adding video stock to our base at East Molesey, London. Our operations in the UK allow us to provide equipment that is packaged and presented specifically for each of our markets. We have a highly skilled operations team to service, prepare and present our equipment as our customers require."
Production Resource Group UK is part of a company that has its roots in the US but now handles in excess of 40% of its business through its European presence. It is able to support projects for its clients, across all parts of Europe and the world, from its regional group offices.
Stephan Paridaen, President of the European business, states: "PRG have grown through acquisition and diversification. This continues to be our strategy going forward as we build on our position as the world's leading technical supplier. The UK's development at this point reflects better what we are able to offer elsewhere across Europe and globally."
The sales side of the company in the UK, PRG Distribution, is not included within this rebranding and continues to focus on the sale of Vari-Lite and other premium products across Europe.
