USA - The Light CoPilot III is a new analogue chase control system from Elation Control Systems. A complete package for controlling multiple sound-active effects, it features Elation's popular 16-channel Light CoPilot II analogue chase controller, plus two 4-channel LC-4SP power packs and two 25-foot connector cables.

With two power packs included in the system - as opposed to one 8-channel pack - the Light CoPilot III gives DJs and clubs more options for configuring their lights. For example, they can string four fixtures in two different areas of a club, rather than having to rig all their lights on one truss or T-bar. Plus, users will have fewer messy extension cords and wires to hassle with.

"The Light CoPilot III's extra power pack really expands what you can do with your light show," said John Lopez, national sales manager for Elation Control Systems. "It

UK - ECT continues to expand its POPscreen range and says that high quality images are produced with them, thanks to the manufacturing process which employs casting techniques rather than extrusion. With the aid of chemical enhancements ECT has developed a screen that "maintains the high quality of quartz crystal screens at a price that reflects the economies of scale production".

The methods used in the manufacture are critical in the performance levels that can be enjoyed. The casting process ensures the quartz crystal diffusion particles are poured into the liquid acrylic before polymerisation, and settle to a very fine layer within the thickness of the acrylic sheet. This process creates a fine image-capture plane, so that images projected onto the screens are of high quality and have a very wide angle of viewing. Another distinct advantage of the POP screen, conti

USA - PRG has announced the debut of the PRG Series 400 Power and Signal Distribution System. The patent-pending PRG Series 400 system integrates power and data into one trunk cable providing flexibility, safety and efficiency that reduce both setup time and labour costs, according to PRG.

The Series 400 system combines power, DMX and Ethernet data through a single custom-designed trunk cable. The data system includes Ethernet switches with the ability to route any DMX universe to any DMX output connector in the system, along with complete electrical isolation. As a result, lighting systems can better accommodate the growing need for data and use less cable and technicians can re-route signals from the user menus without making physical changes to the system.

"The Series 400 opens a new world for both designers and technicians," notes Jere Harris, chairman and CEO of

UK - Automation specialists Kinesys is launching its new control solution, K2 at PLASA 2005. This new product, says Kinesys, combines the best aspects of existing programming methodologies with some stunning new concepts - in a system "unrivalled for ease of use and programming power".

K2 has 3D support inbuilt at its very core. The programming and playback environments display real moving objects as realistic graphical representations. These are positioned in a 3D space in the correct proportions and relations to the stage, set and other items as well as other moving objects.

All these graphical items can be created in industry standard CAD packages and imported directly into K2. Programming then becomes very simple, with manipulation of the moving objects as straightforward as click-and-drag.

Cues can be simulated and rehearsed in full 3D before being run for rea

UK - Exclusive UK distributor HHB Communications is delighted to announce the availability of Røde's new NT6 compact condenser microphone. Designed and manufactured in Australia, the NT6 uses technology already pioneered in the highly successful NT5 model, and boasts a separately-housed gold sputtered true condenser capsule that connects to the preamplifier body via a custom heavy duty 3m Kevlar-reinforced cable. This makes the NT6 ideal for a wide range of applications, say HHB, especially instrument mic'ing and any situation where mounting space is limited or a discrete installation is required.

Housed in a heavy-duty satin-nickel-plated body, the preamp module utilizes state-of-the-art surface mount technology and incorporates switches for both 10dB pad and 80Hz low cut filter (12dB/octave), enabling additional control without the need for disturbing the capsule once in posi

Australia - Australian manufacturer LSC Lighting has secured prime position at this year's PLASA show - right behind the popular Innovation Gallery at the front of the hall. Despite numerous attempts to gain information on LSC's new product releases at PLASA this year, a company spokesperson has repeatedly stone-walled by just offering the company's stand number - H11. What can be so secretive not to reveal any details prior to the show? LSC is in its 15th year as an exhibitor at PLASA, so why not just blurt out what's coming? Everyone else does . . .

LSC will unveil the big secret at the PLASA Show - on stand H11.

UK - Jem's industry standard AF-1 has served the entertainment industry well as a multi-purpose fan for years, serving in clubs, studios and theatres, and on countless tours and events. A more powerful version of the AF-1 Fan, the AF-2, has now hit the market. In fact, it is nearly three times as powerful as the AF-1.

Besides increased power and airflow, the overall design has been enhanced to become even more state of the art. Like its predecessor, the AF-2 features DMX as standard (both 3- and 5-pin) and can also be remote controlled with features such as auto timer, speed/output control and 8x mode, which expands

Italy - The Palco-3 Mobile promises "great efficiency and high colour rendering". The LED-based light source offers a number of key features: 100,000 hours life at full power, cold light and absolutely no maintenance; top colour efficiency: the red's intensity for example is the same as that of a 750W halogen lamp, but consumes less than 100W, and silent operation. The fixture is fan-free and has no cooling system.

Palco 3 Mobile is fitted with absolute encoders, so when reset doesn't require any repositioning procedure and goes immediately to the required position. If accidentally moved, it restores the position and when switched off, a special mechanism enables to block the motor in the current position. It has a considerable range of interchangeable optics designed to meet the most varied illumination requirements.

SGM can be found at the PLASA Show on stand G30.<
