USA - Quasar Science has announced the release of a new firmware update for its Double Rainbow and Rainbow 2 RGBX linear LED fixtures. Firmware v0.7 is available for free from QuasarScience.com. It brings new features and improvements, including global parameter controls for image-based lighting.
The firmware update brings a range of benefits for virtual productions, featuring the first lighting profiles that include global parameters to set the color space and white point of input media. USA - The new Ovation CYC 3 FC from Chauvet Professional allows more space to be covered with fewer fixture thanks to its greater length.
A fully-featured cyc light, the Ovation CYC 3 FC measures 47.13 x 6.30 x 4.33 inches (1197 x 160 x 110 mm), making it longer than the popular Ovation CYC 1 FC. Because of this size difference, the new fixture allows the same space to be lit with fewer units.
For example, a 45ft wide space that would require between 11 and 15 CYC 1 FC units to be lit properly, depending on the desired saturation level, would need only seven to nine CYC 3 FC fixtures to achieve the same results. This not only reduces the fixture-footprint on a stage, it also saves valuable time during set up and tear down.

Italy - Prolights has launched the Astra Profile400, a compact LED moving profile with an efficient, punchy output. The Astra Profile400 has a 400W LED source calibrated at 7,000K and a smooth zoom system from 6.5º to 50º.
The new moving light includes an extensive feature set including four-layer motorised framing shutters, linear CMY and CTO, colour and gobo wheels, an animation wheel, a frost filter, a prism and an iris.

Europe - Prolights has announced the release of the Smart BatPlusG2, a high-end version of the Smart Bat uplighters designed with enhanced output and battery performance, IP65 with a new look.
The fixture has four 20W RGB+WW LEDs with high CRI, twice the output on the battery against the previous generation, and nearly three times if connected to the mains. The Smart BatPlusG2 is also ‘Spektra calibrated’, joining a large family of Prolights products that share the same colour calibration standard.
