USA - Electro-Voice is launching the matching subwoofer for its ZXA1 compact self-powered loudspeaker at NAMM 2012 - the ZXA1-Sub.

UK - Following the successful launch of the Impression Spot One during 2011, GLP has now introduced the Impression Wash One, which offers a Fresnel-based optical system with a full feature set of beam control options.

Using the same 400W RGB LED light engine as the impression Spot One, the Wash One is able to deliver delicate colour changes or instantaneous colour bumps, says the company.

Careful calibration ensures that as wide a colour spectrum as possible can be achieved - from soft pastels to deep saturated shades - and everything in between.

As 2012 marks the 40thanniversary of Yamaha's first analogue console and the 25thanniversary of its first digital console, it is an appropriate time for the company to launch a series of compact mixers which make optimum use of both technologies.

USA - At NAMM 2012, Peavey launched a host of pro-audio products including a range of powered mixers, a new powered and passive series of loudspeakers, new Expansion Modules for powered enclosures, and the toughest addition to its SP loudspeaker family yet.

The PVi 6500 and 8500 are 400W mixers and feature six and eight input channels respectively, one of which is dedicated to house either an iPod or iPhone, and at the touch of a button will play music from the source whilst muting the rest of the console.

PVi features include a Mid-Morph EQ; onboard 24-bit digital effects; combination XLR and ¼" input jacks; selectable nine-band graphic EQ for mains or monitors; patented Kosmos-C low frequency and spectrum enhancement system; master mute; phantom power; and an LED meter bridge.

The new product features a real pixel pitch of 10.4 mm resolution and is populated with 3in1 SMD chips. The die-cast aluminum modules measure 50 x 50 x 4.5 cm and are ultra-lightweight at just 28kg per square metre. The Action Series loudspeaker line includes six models - in both active and passive configurations. Germany - Bosch Security Systems has announced that it now supports the new EASE EVAC speaker simulation software, a high-end package developed by Berlin-based AFMG (Ahnert Feistel Media Group), well-known for the acoustical simulation package EASE. This move spells good news for voice evacuation system designers since it will in future ensure even faster verification and optimization of systems based on Bosch EVAC loudspeakers, says the company.

EASE EVAC enables all acoustics-related quality parameters to be analysed, including the most popular: STI (Speech Transmission Index). This can be done for all Bosch ceiling- and wall-mounted speakers, without any limitations. Simulating a 3D room with different types of speakers is also no longer a time- consuming task and can instead be achieved in just a few mouse clicks.
