UK - Allen & Heath has released new firmware V1.12 for the Xone:DB4 digital DJ FX mixer, with many enhancements and new features, including a rotary mixer mode, revised gain structure, new effects architecture, new FX types, and the addition of X:Link functionality to connect other compatible Xone products.

New effects types have been added, including a Masif-Q DLY FX, BitBash-2 DMG FX, and new Classic/KillSend/Send FX modes. The revised gain structure provides better signal level alignment between analogue and digital inputs, and the effects architecture now allows the tails of reverbs and delays to continue in the mix when the Wet/Dry control is turned back to Dry.

There is now the option to switch to rotary mixer mode, which swaps the functionality of the channel fader controls and the FX Wet/Dry knob. The added X:Link functionality allows the user to connect compatible Xon

USA - Elation Flex Pixel WP, a 3m (10') tri-colour SMD LED flexible tape with pixel control and a water resistant covering. Each tape features 72 tri-colour (red, green, blue) LED pixels, spaced 40 mm (1.6") centres. You can cut and extend the tape every 100mm (4") to fit a wide variety of design applications, says the company.

A variety of mounting options opens more creative possibilities to designers when using Flex Pixel WP. You can mount the tape on just about any surface using the optional Flex IP Clip kit, or simply use double stick 3M adhesive tape or Velcro (sold separately).

Flex Pixel WP can be driven by the Flex Pixel Driver 1, a dedicated DMX driver for up to 144 pixels (two tapes) and up to 432 DMX channels of control. The compact size makes it easy to conceal and mount the driver anywhere.

UK - MilTec (UK) Ltd started the new year by exhibiting at ISE in Amsterdam. Items on display included lightweight multi-channel amplifiers, signal processing and mixing products from the MT Audio range.

The LEDHead LED lighting products included the LED Batten2, fitted with 18 x 8W quadcolour LEDs and LED tapes with tricolour and white LED options.

Directors David Faulkes and Graham Gosden were at the show looking to increase their overseas distributor network. "This was a very successful first show for us," said David Faulkes. "We have picked up a number of companies from different parts of the world looking to distribute our range of UK designed audio and lighting products. However, we still have work to do, finding distributors to complete the network."

The fixture employs 61 3W Cree LEDs (RGBW) for high output and colour mixing capabilities, from intense hues to subtle pastels. Germany - At ProLight+Sound next month, Chauvet will introduce new luminaires for the European market: MVP Series of modular video panels, Legend 412 pixel-mapping moving yokes, and PiX Series of pixel-mapping wash lights. All are LED-fitted fixtures with multiple applications for multiple settings.

Chauvet's Professional MVP Series comprises three modular LED video panels. At a 12.5-mm pixel pitch and 13.4% transparency, the lightweight MVP 12 is suitable for high-resolution graphics and live-action video. MVP 18 features a pixel pitch of 18.75 mm and a 38% transparency, while MVP 37.5 is suitable for low-resolution graphics and long-range viewing due to its 37.5-mm pixel pitch and 60% transparency. Denmark - Martin Professional product developer Simon Allan has put together an updated library of Vectorworks lighting instrument symbols and has made them freely available for users to download.

This new range includes symbols for all fixtures in Martin Professional's moving head range, as well as some from Martin's LED video range.

The symbols are available for Vectorworks Spotlight 2008-2012 and can be downloaded from the Martin Professional website. The Vectorworks files can also be imported for use with Martin's popular visualization software package, the Martin ShowDesigner (MSD 5).
