Set in the 1940s in the rice paddy fields of Lomellina, northern Italy, this comedy tells the story of Michelina, a rice-weeder played by actress Maria Amelia Monti, who likes to perform on the stage and falls in love with a cardinal, thus provoking angry reactions from the clergy.
"Even in theatres with a particular acoustic response, such as the Franco Parenti Theatre, they perform as exceptionally as ever - I refer to the Edge speakers, of course," commented Giorgio Albani from Besio Sound Co, in charge of the technical staging of the play produced by the Teatro Stabile of Florence.
Satisfaction was also expressed by Lorenzo Alberti, the sound engineer from Soundaround who is following the tour which will cover Italy's most important theatres.
