UK - Dear Evan Hansen brought an aesthetic focus on social anxiety to Broadway and West End stages, vividly and musically. In doing so, the theatrical production received considerable critical acclaim, nominated for nine Tony Awards and winning six.

The arrival of Fourier Audio’s transform.engine, and especially its recent v1.2 software enhancement, which adds features like Cuelists that can snapshot the entire state of all currently loaded plugins and MIDI control to fire Cues, has played a key role.

“Finally, a proper bona fide solution to plugins on a DiGiCo console,” says Tom Marshall, the sound designer for the current UK touring edition of Dear Evan Hansen, now in the midst of its 29-city run. “I put the transform.engine on my list as soon as I knew it was out there and working and as soon as I knew that the v1.2 updat

USA - The Snohomish people have inhabited the Port Gardner Peninsula for thousands of years, but the city of Everett, Wash., was not founded on it until 1893. While many of its 110,000 residents commute daily 25 miles south to Seattle, Everett itself is a burgeoning community that opened a small airport in 2019 and is home to a large Boeing manufacturing facility, as well as the 10,000-seat Angel of the Winds Arena.

Opened in 2003, Angel of the Winds Arena houses three venues that host sporting events (especially hockey games), trade shows, music concerts, school functions, and a variety of other programs. From its opening, the audio system in Angel of the Winds Arena has been built around JBL Professional loudspeakers, but after 20 years the original system was aging and dirty and no longer met the needs of the venue’s event schedule.

Canada - When Piere L. Roy was called upon to light the Governors Ball, a prestigious charity event that features Quebec City celebrities, he encountered a host of steep challenges at the function's venue.

For starters, the 200’ x 80’ ballroom at The Mount Blanc resort has very low ceilings, making it impossible to mount lights high enough to cover the spacious area. Making this challenge even more daunting, no rigging was allowed anywhere in the room.  To top it all off, given that this was a charity event, Roy had a tight budget, which limited the number of fixtures in his rig and the amount of time he had to set up.

"Mount Blanc is beautiful and elegant - the perfect setting for a glamorous event such as this one," said Roy. "However, there were challenges when you light something here, at least if you wanted to light it with the style an eve

Europe - For engineers to choose a particular brand of console it requires multiple plus points. For audio engineer Daniela Seggewiss, DiGiCo ticks a host of boxes – workflow, customisable layout, support and, most importantly, sound performance that is compatible with many different styles of live performance.

As a child, Seggewiss knew she wanted to be involved in the live music industry. She loved music but was not keen on performing. “When I was 23, I moved to Leeds in the UK to go to university. It was a monitor engineer who lived in Leeds that I had first met when I was younger, who really helped me out,” Seggewiss recalls. “I’d asked him for work experience and he’d shown me a few things. He also took me to his local venue in Leeds, I got chatting to the team there and a week later, when they needed a monitor engineer, they called me! I ne

Engineers Kenny Narayan and Ranjeet Singh have toured with Diljit Dosanjh for many years, choosing DiGiCo because of the console’s durability and the range of features that enable it to cope with the demands of a multimedia artist.

“The show is very heavy on snapshots and MIDI recalls. Diljit is very active on social media, so we use a lot of busses, too,” Narayan explains. “The console really meets our needs. There are often TV news cameras, or social media teams that need feeds, so havi

Germany - The Mediterranean flavours of Cologne’s Da’s Lupo restaurant – one of five owned by the restauranteur, Gabriel Zanchetti – were reflected in its requirements when a new audio system was sought out. The restaurant opted for the Optimal Audio ecosystem that AV specialists Starpoint recommended.

Spread across two floors, Da’s Lupo’s restaurant features a large dining room divided into two areas with a separate bar. A function room with dancefloor occupies the lower floor.

For Da’s Lupo, music is an integral part of the dining experience, and the restaurant needed an audio system that met three criteria. The first of these was that the system was customisable for each of the three distinct areas of the restaurant, so that the music fitted the flavour of the day and time. The second was that the system was simple and intuitive so t
