Philippines - Parañaque City’s 1118 AutoSpa, an auto detailing and car wash facility, has chosen its sound system with JBL Professional solutions. The project was completed by Lyric Piano and Organ Corporation, which served as both the distributor and integrator of the installation.

Founded with a commitment to delivering top-tier car care, 1118 AutoSpa specialises in meticulous detailing and advanced paint protection techniques. They sought an audio solution that would provide an immersive sound environment for customers while ensuring seamless communication for staff.

UK - Based on the box office hits of Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, Magic Mike Live! is a 360-degree dance and acrobatic spectacular. Conceived by the film’s original star Channing Tatum, the show takes place at London’s Hippodrome Casino and features heart-racing dance routines that take place in front of, above and around the audience.

Due to the immersive nature of the performance, the show has to ensure that its performers are fully safe at all times. As such, they asked Solutions On Stage to design, manufacture and test bespoke steelwork for a specific track used throughout the show, which had to meet the necessary requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Spain - Green Hippo’s Hippotizer Media Servers were the choice again this year for a magical projection installation on the Epson stand at ISE 2025. The project rigged a 2.2m mirrored globe, onto which AI-generated bright, floral and kaleidoscopic content was projected via three 4K, 20,000 lumen Epson EB-PQ2220B projectors. At the heart of the EcoSphere system were two Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 Media Servers running as main and backup, supplied by Motion Mapping and Stage Sound Services (SSS).

Europe - On his current Cronicles tour, the German rapper Cro has not only been looking back on his musical history, but also taking a look into the future. Roland Greil designed the lighting for the show – and in so doing, gave GLP’s new LED FatBeam fixture, Mad Maxx, its tour premiere. The recently introduced Mad Maxx is the first LED-based spotlight comparable to 3kW and 7kW xenon spotlights.

Using a single device, the designer has created a series of impressive visual effects, including stunning shadows and silhouettes, giving the show a distinctive look and producing big moments.

UK - Located in the Royal College of Music’s East Tower, the Carne Room is one of the institution’s four Parry Rooms, named after composer Hubert Parry (and Royal College of Music director between 1895 and 1918). Also known as the East Parry room, it functions as a multi-use space for performance, practice, teaching and meetings, with visitors treated to views overlooking the Royal Albert Hall.

In order to deliver high quality audio during hybrid meetings, a pair of Audio-Technica ATND1061DAN Dante-enabled Beamforming Ceiling Array microphones was recently installed in the Carne Room’s vaulted ceiling. The unobtrusive design of the microphones was furthered by a custom paintjob by Aura Futures, ensuring the perfect fit for the venue’s impressive aesthetic.

France - APG’s iX series speakers and Active Audio column speakers are at the heart of Videlio’s major AV overhaul at the Westfield Les 4 Temps (Paris) shopping centre.

Spain - On 1 February, Basque band Esne Beltza bade farewell to their fans with a spectacular final concert at Bilbao Arena in Miribilla. With 8,000 people in attendance, the event was a true celebration of the band's career, featuring a visual production that matched the energy of their music.

Sweden - The Borås Arena is home to top-tier Swedish football club Elfsborg and Division 1 South team Norrby. The 14,500-capacity stadium was opened in 2005 and, last year, a new sound system was designed and installed by local musical instrument and professional sound specialists Musiklagret, who are also a sponsor at the arena.

With speech articulation and uniform coverage at the top of the performance criteria, Musiklagret proposed a Nexo system using 40 x P15s and 20 x P10s from the French manufacturer’s industry-standard P+ Series point-source range.

USA - Popular underground rap duo $uicideboy$ completed their Greyday2024 US and Canadian tour with a production design – lighting and set – created by Ian MacDonald, who used Robe moving lights to help deliver a raw, in-the-face, lighting aesthetic. MacDonald is based in Ottawa and has worked with the band since 2021.

This latest tour design featured 42 x Robe iForte LTXs, 34 x Spiiders and four iForte Follow Spots, all supplied by Fuse, who purchased the iFortes for this project, which was co-ordinated for them by account managers Matt Kirkpatrick and Kevin Foreste.

China - Recently, Wuping No. 1 Middle School in Hubei Province celebrated its 100th anniversary, during which it has adhered to a philosophy of "cultivating people with moral integrity and all-round development". During that time it has trained more than 50,000 graduates, many of whom have become high ranked in governing the country, studying, and developing industries.

To mark the occasion, a special Forever Azalea concert was performed in the concert hall of the newly built Science and Art Museum, presenting an audio-visual feast to alumni, guests, teachers and students. UK - When techno icon Frazi.er and house kingpin Ewan McVicar came together late last year at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, the two titans of the Scottish electronic music scene staged a spectacular. Placing themselves in the centre of the venue in a 360° setup, the two delivered "a performance masterclass which received excellent reviews in every quarter".

The show’s audio was provided by East Anglia-based Audio Plus, who have supplied systems for touring, festivals, special events, and installation for more than 30 years. Audio Plus deployed a Funktion-One Vero system for the event, driven by XTA amplification. Bear has five stores from Uttoxeter to Wimborne and atmosphere tops the menu in each. With the help of nationwide audio installation partner, York-based Rock-Tech AV, Bear evaluated several commercial audio systems before aligning with Optimal Audio.

Poland - Late last year, Atlas Arena in Łódź hosted an extraordinary live event, Jimek & Guests: Subclassics, Poland’s first-ever symphonic spectacle in a 360-degree format. The orchestra was sited in the round, which provided the audience with a unique perspective.

The audio system was built around the power of the DiGiCo Quantum series, with two Quantum 338s, with Pulse upgrade, at the front-of-house position and Quantum 852 and SD12-96 consoles at the monitor position.

USA - Jack Daniel’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park featured an impressive artist line-up, with lighting and production design created by Robert W. Peterson of Real World Lighting.

Peterson added 86 x Robe iForte LTX moving lights to his lighting plot, together with 46 x iFortes, 38 x iSpiider LED wash beams, 20 x Robe Tarrantula large LED wash beams and 20 x LEDBeam 350s, all supplied by Solotech, project-managed for them by Austin Schussler and Steven Morgan with Joseph Logsdon providing excellent account oversight for the whole project.

Germany - The world premiere of The World of Hans Zimmer - An Immersive Symphony: The Theatre Experience took the audience at the Metronom Theater in Oberhausen on an impressive musical journey through the works of the film composer.

Presented by Semmel Concerts and accompanied by lighting, sound and stage technology from Satis & Fy, this hit show delighted more than 22,000 fans at 15 sold-out concerts from 23 January to 2 March. Hans Zimmer himself spoke to the audience in the form of a larger-than-life, three-dimensional projected image.

Thailand - Now a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Thailand, the Bakery Music record label was founded in 1994 and pioneered the independent music industry in Thailand, inspiring the creation of many other indie labels in the country.

A recent Bakery Rock Concert Live in Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand featured performances from the label’s leading artists including Moderndog, Pru and Flure, with a Nexo sound system deployed by local distributor and concert sponsor Fuzion Far East.

India - Lighting designer Jasangat Sonpal selected 62 Claypaky Sharpy X Frames for a dynamic concert starring Shaan, one of the most popular singers of Indian cinema, at Phoenix Market City in Bangalore, 20 December 2024.

Shaan is a playback singer, composer, actor and television host who records in multiple languages. He is considered among the greatest playback singers, or ghost singers, whose pre-recorded songs are dubbed into motion picture soundtracks replacing the actors’ voices.

For his own high-voltage concert, Shaan opened with some Bollywood classics to the delight of his fans. He took them on a journey through his colourful career, including ‘the four stages of love’ featuring soulful numbers and ballads. Thailand - Powersoft’s Mezzo amplifier platform is powering the audio experience at Starbucks’ ‘largest Greener Store’, its new flagship location in One Bangkok, Thailand’s mixed-use development project.

Founded in 1971 in Seattle, United States, Starbucks has over 30,000 stores in over 80 countries. At the end of last year, the company opened a Starbucks Reserve, featuring energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fixtures and a goal on waste reduction, in Bangkok. Created by Tricolor India Schauspiel, this visual spectacle is powered by seven Christie D23WU-HS 1DLP laser projectors, delivering brightness and image quality to bring the rich history of these thousand-year-old monuments to life. This new 35-minute show, commissioned by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and voiced by actor Amitabh Bachchan, takes visitors on an immersive journey through time, narrating the temple’s storied past like never before.
