The two-day event was more than just country music show, Currington, Moore and their fellow artists were helping their Badger state fans raise money for a collection of local charities. Providing upbeat visuals for their performances was an intensely colourful lightshow based on a tour design by Currington’s LD Landon Bloss that featured Chauvet Professional fixtures supplied by Sound Design Productions.
Glenn Ottenbacher installed the rig and ran the lightshows for many of the performers. He notes that having a high output fixtures like the Maverick Storm 1 Wash, St

UK - When the collective of musicians known as Soul II Soul set out on their long 2022 tour of clubs, theatres and pavilions in January, leading up to the summer outdoor season, their technical director Ben Emissah chose Entec Live for all audio and visual technical requirements.
The support and show reinforcement element formed something of a collective of its own, since Manchester-based Emissah had known Entec head of sound Dan Scantlebury from time working with his previous hire company in the city, while the tour’s experienced lighting designer Dave Ross’s relationship with Entec CEO and head of lighting Noreen O’Riordan spans over two decades, the two parties having worked together on Scissor Sisters along the way.
With such a variety of band configurations, permutations and venue shapes and sizes, both the sound and lighting rigs needed to be scalable. Soun

USA - In April, Yaamava’ Resort & Casino, owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, opened its new 2,600-seat entertainment venue, the Yaamava’ Theatre, topping off the property’s four-year, $760m expansion.
Meaning “spring” in Serrano, the Band’s native language, Yaamava’ is located in the L.A. exurb of Highland, an area already loaded with entertainment options. With that in mind, the Band sought to distinguish its new theatre - part of one of the largest casino properties on the West Coast with eight restaurants and eight bars, plus an onsite hotel opened last December - from the competition.
That mission was accomplished with the installation of an L-Acoustics K Series sound system designed by L-Acoustics senior Applications Engineer for Installations André Pichette and integrated by the Escondido office of Sound Image. “Clarity, coverag

UK - Martin Dudley has been running Cate Carter’s lighting designs for James Morrison on his ChamSys console since 2012. In the ensuing decade, he’s not only grown ever-more appreciative of Morrison’s vocals, but also of his colleague’s singular ability to refresh and expand the evocative looks that support the singer’s shows in light.
“Working with Cate is a lesson in the creative power of design,” opens Dudley. “Her approach is never formularised; instead she’s always finding different ways to add new elegant dimensions to James’ shows. It’s a genuine pleasure to take her vision off the computer screen and into reality.”
For the recent tour, which saw James Morrison play a number of venues around the UK, Carter’s originality took the form of eschewing big lighting effects in favour of a timelessly classic visual concept. Helping Dudley trans

Japan - Newly-built on the site of the former Chiba Velodrome, the Tipstar Dome is one of the few velodromes in Japan with an international standard, 250m wooden track.

No stranger to the challenge, One Love Project has produced interval shows for the Chiba Jets Funabashi professional basketball team and Japan’s Nike Zoom Speed Race for years. One Love project director Jun’ichiro Takanashi created audio, visual, and lighting content to be played during race intervals and lead-ups to enhance

USA - Established in 1932, City Church of Madison, Wisconsin, has a striking modernist exterior and a spacious, 800-seat, modern sanctuary with complete stage and AV production capabilities.
For years, City Church has relied on live stage productions supported by multiple large video projection screens, professional lighting and a full pro-audio-quality sound system to engage the congregation. But faced with the expanding scope and vision of the church's AV productions, City Church recently did a substantial systems upgrade by engineering and installing a completely new production workflow built upon Dante audio and the new Dante AV networked video platform.

USA - Tesla vehicles recently served as the centrepiece of a colourful light and sound ‘rodeo’ show.
It was all part of Cyber Rodeo, a signature event for 15,000 guests celebrating the opening of Tesla’s new 10 million square feet Giga plant outside the Texas capital of Austin. Rob Ross and the team at Rob Ross Design created the visual by lighting 25 unpainted Tesla vehicles in an array of vibrant colours to coordinate with a thematic soundscape developed by the Tesla media team.
The collaboration resulted in a 10-minute music and light show that captivated visitors at the ceremony. “We called this the ‘Body in White’ section,” says Ross. “It was one of my favourite points in the event. Seeing these vehicles accented by different colours and patterns in coordination with the music was a lot of fun, and it conveyed a nice upbeat mood.”

Norway - Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo was instigated by the Lyn Oslo football club in 1926, and it is currently the home ground of the Norway national football team. It is also the site of the Norwegian Cup Final, when thousands of fans descend on the stadium. With the previous PA system having served the stadium well for 24 years, this year marks the start of a new acoustical era for Ullevaal Stadium with the installation of the L-Acoustics A Series system.
L-Acoustics certified provider distributor for Norway, Scandec Systems AS has been working with Ullevaal Stadium since the early eighties, having designed and delivered the previous PA system back in 1998. Europe - Broadcast to over 50 countries worldwide and attracting more than 200 million viewers, the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 (ESC) employed the most extensive DirectOut infrastructure so far deployed at the event.
The goal of the system design was to ensure that, in the event of the failure of any single element, the signal flow would not be interrupted for more than 3ms. To achieve this, it was necessary to provide one or more backups for each device, and the first redundancy level had to be independent of operator response time. Another requirement was that all tasks and signals had to be synchronized bi-directionally to within a single sample, while glitches (digital noise) were to be completely avoided.
To achieve this level of system security, the planners relied on audio converters, processors and distribution systems from German company DirectOut - in
