Romania - Prolyte Group, renowned manufacturer of trussing and staging systems, officially open its new purpose-built factory in Piatra Olt, Romania, with a series of opening ceremonies this week. Distributors, press, governmental authorities and stakeholders were invited to join the celebrations at the new, ultra-modern manufacturing location.

"Prolyte started to translocate all its manufacturing facilities to Romania as part of a long-term plan in 2010. The commissioning of the new factory is the final and most important phase of this plan, consolidating all its European manufacturing capacity into a 5.000sq.m facility, with scope to expand to 16.000sq.m," the company says.

The new production facility features brand new automated production equipment, new welding jigs and state-of-the-art product lines. In addition, the building contains industry-leading employee welfare and environmental systems, as well as an in-house training facilities for welding personnel.

"The completely bespoke factory, including all equipment, procedures and personnel has obtained a EN1090 certification in the highest execution class III and is further ISO 3834-2 certified by the International Institute of Welding," the company adds. "The total group manufacturing capacity will grow by 250%, which is vital for the continued worldwide sales expansion."

Prolyte is confident that the new facility will cement its position as a market leader in terms of volume, quality and global network reach, as well as giving a solid foundation for its continued international expansion.

The opening celebrations kicked off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a tour of the factory by Craig Huskins, technical manager and Constantin Ciucia, quality manager, who explained the production quality control processes in detail. The tour was followed by speeches from Lambert Bouwmeester, CEO and Mihai Hlihor, COO, highlighting the efforts and achievements of all involved in this project, which links the Romanian and the Dutch Prolyte teams in a common goal to excel as a truss manufacturer. Champagne and a traditional Romanian lunch concluded the day, which was highly appreciated by all guests.
