From its branch location at the NEC near Birmingham, PSL provided plasma screens, TFT monitors, laptops, computers and sound systems to the show.
In addition to individual exhibitors, PSL supplied equipment and crew for the special Innov8 Theatre, where influential CEOs of companies like Hewlett Packard, Heidelberg, Kodak, Xerox and Canon were speaking. Every presentation was filmed so that a compilation of highlights could be made after the show.
PSL Gary Davis explained: "In terms of turnover, IPEX is the single largest exhibition that we've handled through our NEC subsidiary since we formed it in 2001. Once again, having a PSL presence on-site at the NEC has proved to be invaluable in terms of logistics, enabling us to give exhibitors and conference speakers a consistently high level of service and support throughout the 8-day show."
As well as three further seminar areas, PSL was responsible for equipping and servicing two Internet lounges running simultaneously in the exhibition halls.
PSL was praised for its event production achievement by PICON, the owners of IPEX, which staged the Print IT Awards during the show. Offering prizes totaling £100,000, the Awards play a vital role in encouraging young people to embark on careers in the UK printing industry.
For the ceremony, which was hosted by BBC news anchor George Alagiah, PSL built a single-screen 12 metre wide set, and a stage with disabled access. Moving lights, stage wash, graphics projection and a large PA system completed the whole awards feel. "No time for rehearsal, sound check, speaker briefing etc, BUT it went like a dream!" said client Paul Evans, business development manager of Picon Limited.
