Hosted by popular TV presenter Vernon Kay, guests were invited to take part in two game shows, entitled SLVR of Fortune and Play Your RAZR. One of the UK's brightest new music stars, Paolo Nutini sang four songs from his new album, while magician Paul Zenon and comedian Al Murray added to the entertainment.
The event proved to be technically complex: PSP's 8-way buzzer system was used for the quiz section as well as Flash to create a random name selector for participants. All of the quiz graphics were specifically designed to reflect the Motorola brand. For the sound system, PSP installed a Midas Verona, 40-channel desk and a 12 speaker Nexo system with sub-bass units. Two 15ft wide screens were used with lighting fixtures built in to the surrounds, and two Sanyo XF45s provided the projection. The lighting rig comprised 16 moving lights, 20 LED fixtures and 25 generic lamps. A tiered seating system was installed in to the venue to create a TV studio type setting. PSP utilised a technical crew of over 25 to mount the event.
David Woodcock from PSP said: "This was a fantastic event to be involved with. The line up of talent was superb and very well received and it was a pleasure to work with Rodber Thorneycroft on this high profile project. It was obviously a complicated technical event to work on with so many different elements to the evening from the quizzes to a live musical performance. However, the detailed planning in advance enabled us to provide all of the components and it worked perfectly."
