Pulsar's ChromaBank.
UK - Cambridge-based Pulsar launched a range of new LED-based products at the recent PLASA Show. One of the key new products was the company's ChromaDeck system - a joint development between Pulsar and Litestructures, which is a hybrid of the industry-standard Litedeck staging system and the innovative LED ChromaPanel. Now in full production, this new product can be used in either fixed installations or as part of a temporary or touring stage and TV set.

A new software upgrade for the ChromaZone and ChromaBank was also announced. Version 2.0 is available free of charge and enhances the existing software by adding many new functions including the running of two simultaneous chases, a smoothing disable switch (for use with video/graphic systems), master dimmer for the 36 RGB individual channels, progressive smoothing with faster response, even smoother built-in chases, the possibility to change the colour of some in-built chases and a range of 6, 9, 36, 42 and 46-channel modes.

The new ChromaBank Mk2 maintains its compatibility with the popular ChromaBank by keeping the same ChromaHeart spacing, but provides many enhanced features such as a multi-purpose hanging bar, built-in power outlet for linking fixtures and more user-selectable operation modes for desk compatibility. Despite the additional features, the enclosure size has been minimized making it highly flexible.

Pulsar also introduced the ChromaPanel300 to complement the popular ChromaPanel600. With the same depth (75mm) and mounting system, the CP300 can be used in conjunction with the larger CP600. It also provides the same level of intensity across both sizes of panel, allowing for the creation of innovative displays. Four CP300s take exactly the same footprint as a CP600 and can be used on each output of the ChromaZone, allowing the use of a massive 48 CP300 units from a single ChromaZone. Also on stand was the new ChromaFlood, which features 91 LEDs within a well-designed enclosure. The ChromaFlood is fitted with a fully articulating mounting bracket to provide a high level of installation flexibility. ChromaFlood can also be recess mounted in surfaces, walls or ceilings, and its IP66 rating makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor use.

Finally from Pulsar were the new ChromaMR16 Heart - which further increases the flexibility of the ChromaRange as it allows for the use of MR16-type low-cost standard fixtures; the ChromaCube - a 300mm cube internally illuminated with high-power LEDs, and the ChromaScan - an LED moving body colour changer that is at home in almost any application.
