"Our bid was undoubtedly the most expensive," confesses Edi Mosch, divisional manager pro audio for Audio Tech KST AG, "but the experts at Granary Sound considered that the EVI Audio equipment provided the most professional solution in view of the very high standards required. When it then emerged that the X-Tra's own sound engineer favoured Midas, Klark Teknik and EV equipment, nothing more stood in the way of the deal, and the contract was signed at the beginning of December 2003."
The scope of the new investment was considerable and comprised: 16 EV XLC127+, eight EV X-Line Sub (2 x 18"), two Xi2123 side-fills, two RX215/212 near-fills and 12 XW15 monitors. Amplification comes from 18 EV P2000, six EV P3000 and six EV P1200 amps. Control desks are a Midas Heritage2000-48TP (front-of-house), and a Midas XL250 (monitors). A whole range of Klark Teknik processing was also provided.
The installation - carried out by Audio-Tech KST AG's audio specialists and assisted by 'flying expert' Ingo Haasch of EVI Audio - lasted four days. On 9 January 2004, the new system had its premiere with a performance by Xavier Naidoo.
