Worldwide - EASE (Electro-Acoustic Simulator for Engineers) 4.1, the industry standard software for acoustical modeling and sound system design evaluation, is now more accessible to students and small firms, or anyone embarking on a career in professional audio. Renkus-Heinz, the worldwide distributor for Acoustic Design Ahnert, has announced availability of EASE JR/2, a two-license key entry-level EASE JR program. While it lacks some of the analytical power and presentation tools of EASE, EASE Jr provides all the features and functions needed by most system designers, including the complete EASE loudspeaker and wall material databases, including loudspeaker and line array DLLs; the 3D modeling tools and Open GL rendering capabilities of EASE, including the popular Vision module; full DXF import and export; all the basic electro-acoustic mapping capabilities of EASE; direct sound auralization; and basic ray tracing.

"We're very pleased that our new price list makes EASE JR the most accessible tool for anyone who wants to explore the benefits of software-based sound system design and acoustical analysis," said Renkus-Heinz president Harro Heinz. "As Dr. Wolfgang Ahnert and Stefan Feistel of Acoustic Design Ahnert and its sister company Software Design Ahnert GmbH continue to develop EASE, EASERA and related programs, these tools will become even more predictive and powerful. EASE JR/2 is not only the doorway into a software program, but an entry into the global community of acoustical and electro-acoustical designers who use these tools in their daily work."

At the same time, Renkus-Heinz has announced worldwide availability of EASERA, the Electronic & Acoustic System Evaluation and Response Analyzer from Software Design Ahnert GmbH. EASERA makes all of the most useful and important audio test and measurement tools - MLS (Maximum Length Sequence), TDS (Time Delay Spectrometry) and dual-FFT - available to anyone with a laptop PC and a "good" sound card, say the company. For the past six months, audio professionals have been beta-testing EASERA, and their feedback has been incorporated into the first full release of EASERA, which is now available from Renkus-Heinz.
