Recolight is a not-for-profit company set up by the lamps industry to operate a scheme designed to meet the specific and in some respects, unique requirements of Gas Discharge Lamps under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. The Scheme already has over 20 producers who have made firm commitments by pre-registering and this is now expected to grow quickly following the formal approval of the Scheme. The deadline for producers to register via a Scheme is 15 March 2007.
The Recolight compliance scheme has been approved as a dual 'household' and 'non-household' scheme to meet the requirements of the regulations. This means that lamp producers can register with the Recolight scheme to deal with all their requirements, which will be handled via standardised processes as far as possible in order to provide efficient and optimal solutions for its members.
If you think you might be affected by the WEEE Regulations, or would like to know more detail about its planned processes please visit the Recolight website address below, or telephone 0845 601 7749.
If you are a Producer of lamps, as defined by the WEEE Regulations, or think you might be, then please contact Recolight. You will need to be registered with them by 15 March 2007 in order that they can in turn register you with the Envrionment Agency by 31 March 2007.
