Taking refreshment with JHS
UK - The John Hornby Skewes & Co Event 2011 is being hailed as a resounding success. A record number of attendees from the pro-audio, rental and PA sectors turn out to see, hear and test out new product, watch artists play, mingle with a number of industry stalwarts, and go home with extra profits, says the company.

Attendance at Event 2011 was up by 20% on last year, and it really showed, as the two marquees, the demonstration theatres and outside areas were bustling throughout.

Visitors were entertained by live music across two stages delivered through HK Audio Elements PA with musicians including Bob Henrit, Bad Company's Dave 'Bucket' Colwell, Thomas Blug, John Verity, Jamie Mallender, Paul Rogers Band guitarist Paul Guerin, and virtuoso blues guitarists/ chanteuses Chantel McGregor and Clare Free. JHS very own Gav Coulson hosted the JHS Rock All-stars, as MC, MD, bass player, guitarist, vocalist and crew for four days.

Suppliers representatives from HK Audio, Allen & Heath and Tannoy/Lab.gruppen/Lake were on hand to talk to, as well as Neville and Stuart, the JHS Pro Audio boys.

New products on display and demonstrated were from HK Audio, including the SoundCaddy One and the full range of Allen & Heath mixers.

Tannoy's new VNET 215HL sub woofer was introduced as the compliment to the VQ Live range making its Event debut.

Lab.gruppen power amplifiers and Lake LM26 processing were also taken through their paces on the outside demo rigs.

LA Audio sound reinforcement equipment was also on display within the demo theatres.

USA Kustom and Fishman had some new small venue, portable amplification and PA systems on show.

Dennis Drumm, managing director of JHS, said, "As the sun set on JHS Event 2011, it would be accurate to say that in terms of visitor numbers, and business written, the occasion was another record breaking success. Those who came clearly enjoyed themselves, did business, got the deals, got the new stuff first, smoothed their summer cash flow courtesy of the special JHS Event terms, set themselves up for the Q4 selling season - and made a lot of extra profit."
