The company says: "The IC2 is a digitally steerable line array that combines the power and focus of point source loudspeaker technology with the control and flexibility of a digitally steered array."
The system integrates Renkus-Heinz's digital beam steering into a powerful and versatile point source design. Four 8" low frequency Neodymium transducers and 1" Titanium Nitride coated HF drivers offer high SPL point source performance, while individual steering control of each driver gives the IC2 excellent vertical pattern control for maximum intelligibility, even in the most reverberant spaces, the company claims.
Each IC2 two-way 8" module delivers articulate musicality and powerful punch, with a versatile design that can be used as a stand-alone high-performance loudspeaker, a small ground stack or a flown array of up to 20 cabinets. Each IC2 module can deliver up to four beams, with individual control over aiming and opening angles.
"With every new addition to our Iconyx Series, Renkus-Heinz reaffirms our commitment to digitally steered array technology," says Ralph Heinz, Renkus-Heinz senior vice-president. "The IC2 is more than just a new Iconyx product. It's an entirely new concept in loudspeaker system design, merging the performance advantages of a point source loudspeaker with the control and accuracy of a steered array."
Also launched by Renkus-Heinz at InfoComm is the CF/CFX Series - "a modular point source line array loudspeaker system". Designed for power, portability and versatility, the CF/CFX Series is aimed at applications in a range of small to mid-sized venues, from auditoria and theatres to night clubs and houses of worship. "With the flexibility to be flown, ground-stacked or pole-mounted, the CF/CFX Series delivers the performance and pattern control of a line array, with the clarity of a point source system, in a compact and affordable design that's equally at home as a portable system or a permanent installation," say the company.
The CF101-LA Point Array Module is a 10" two-way design that offers a 15° vertical coverage pattern, integrated crossover, and Renkus-Heinz's exclusive Tuned Conic Diverter waveguide. Up to four CF101-LA cabinets can be arrayed to provide a 90x60° coverage pattern, delivering up to 9dB more output and tighter vertical pattern control than a conventional single cabinet. Renkus-Heinz claims that traditional line arrays require two or three times as many cabinets to provide the same range of coverage as a single CF/CFX system.
The CF15S subwoofer is a compact sub; single or dual CF15S cabinets can be combined with up to four CF101-LA cabinets to create a versatile, compact, portable system that delivers the full-range power and coverage to rival a full-sized line array. CF15S subwoofer cabinets can be flown as part of a full CF/CFX array, or used as a base for pole-mounting up to four CF101-LA boxes, the company says.
