The IC and ICX7 systems.
USA - Renkus-Heinz will introduce the IC7 self-powered and ICX7 non-powered Iconyx array systems at the 121st AES Convention in San Francisco.

Unlike their predecessors, the IC7 and ICX7 are passive arrays with fixed beams that can be mechanically steered. The IC7 is self-powered and the ICX7 is designed for use with an external amplifier. Both feature seven high performance 4-inch coaxial transducers in an architecturally transparent enclosure that is only 44 3/8" (112.7 cm) tall, 5 11/16" (14.5 cm) wide and 4 3/8" (11.1 cm) deep.

Iconyx digitally controlled array systems use advanced technology to provide natural music and intelligible speech in the highly reverberant environments typically associated with architecturally distinguished buildings. Their slender "thin stick" vertical profile mounts flat to the wall, blending easily with both classical and contemporary architecture. The integrated system inside provides a powerful new solution for consultants, contractors and architects who need precise control of acoustic energy.

The self-powered IC7 incorporates a network-ready PF series Intelligent Digital Amplifier. A switching power supply and integrated Speaker Specific Processing make the PF series ideal for use inside a loudspeaker cabinet: it is light in weight and 93% efficient, eliminating the need for a cooling fan. The optional network input enables digital signal distribution via CobraNet along with the R-Control Remote System Management application, and multi-band EQ for system tuning and commissioning - all via a single Ethernet cable.

Also introduced will be a new product group that obliterates the boundaries between categories such as loudspeakers, amplifiers, processors and signal distribution networks. The Sygma Line includes all of these capabilities: the self-powered SG Series will be able to connect to Renkus-Heinz's comprehensive digital audio distribution, loudspeaker management and system control network, via PF Series Intelligent Digital Amplifiers. The SGX Series is designed for use with external amplifiers.

"The new Sygma Line is a set of versatile and powerful tools that are engineered to help our dealers win bids and delight clients by providing exceptional sound reproduction." said David Rahn, national sales manager for Renkus-Heinz. "Our business partners are increasingly focused on live audio solutions that deliver significant labour savings and reliable, simple operation along with great performance. The Sygma Line has been engineered to do all of those things, and to deliver the audiophile quality, flexibility and reliability everyone has come to expect from Renkus-Heinz. Simply put, this will be the line that all others will be measured by."

Engineered and designed by senior vice president Ralph, the new line of two-way systems incorporates transducers from top European manufacturers: recognised worldwide as leaders in this area of audio technology. To make the most of these superior components, Complex Conic horns, True Array Principle (TRAP) enclosures and other Renkus-Heinz innovations have been incorporated into the Sygma Line. Stylish curved enclosures create a modern design signature and complement a wide range of architectural approaches.

The new Sygma Line debuts with five compact general-purpose models, and will be expanded with more application-specific products in 2007. The smallest Sygma loudspeaker is the SGX 41, a two-way coaxial loudspeaker with a 4" woofer and 1" tweeter. The SG61 and SGX61 incorporate a 6.5" woofer and 1" titanium HF driver on a 150 degree X 60 degree Complex Conic horn. Three full-range two-way multi-angled cabinets will provide sound systems designers a versatile set of high-performance options. They include the SG/SGX81 (2-way with 8" woofer, 90 x 60 degree Complex Conic horn); SG/SG121 (2-way with 12" woofer, 90 x 60 degree Complex Conic horn) and SG/SGX151 (2-way with 15" woofer, 90 x 40 degree Complex Conic horn).
