The three-day shoot-out on Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th May, will allow visitors to hear and compare a range of the world's leading professional PA systems designed for shows and events with up to 5000 audience capacity.
Renkus-Heinz, which introduced the world's first music-and-speech digitally steerable array, Iconyx, five years ago, has designed IC Live as the first digitally steerable array loudspeaker for mobile rental applications, with a comprehensive hardware system that makes setup simple.
Its rugged, portable, modular format allows two IC Live arrays to be combined for added output and control. When full range musical output is important to the program, one or two IC215-S dual 15-inch subwoofers can be added to either array. The subwoofers can act as tall or wide bases for IC Live arrays using the interlocking hardware system.
Iconyx transparent technology controls sound with DSP intelligence. Multi-channel class D digital amplifiers with Integral DSP engines control every single array element with programmable precision, allowing up to four sonic beams from each IC Live array module (up to 8 beams when stacked) to be aimed up or down. The slim enclosure is vertical and inconspicuous, maximizing sightlines.
Even at 100 feet, SPL is an impressive105 dB (108 dB when stacked). Output is flat from 80 Hz to 20 kHz.
Entry is free to anyone wanting to audition the unique IC Live system on May 20 from 12:00-13:00 by applying to Polar Audio (info@polaraudio.co.uk).
Entry is also free to all pre-registered PLASA Members and their employees and representatives, including students at PLASA Member educational establishments, at www.lsionline.co.uk/SpeakerDemo2010.
