Germany - J&C Joel demonstrated they were the ringleader of fabrics when they showcased their big top circus tent stand at Prolight + Sound Frankfurt.
The tradeshow stand was inspired by the Madagascar themed circus tent the company created at Motiongate Dubai, a theme park within Dubai Parks and Resorts.
As visitors rolled up to the stand they were transported to a circus complete with a red and blue Deko Molton big top, sand effect digitally printed Joelmat flooring, an 8m by 4m seamless canvas digitally printed with a big top tent and popcorn for everyone to enjoy.
People were also able to view an impressive black and silver Reefer String drape, a seamless projection screen with video content about the company’s recent work and a variety of tracks.

UK - A succession of new seminars has been added to the PLASA Focus Leeds 2017 programme, providing the industry with even more of a reason to make the journey up to the Royal Armouries in Leeds on the 9 – 10 May. The newest sessions, which are as always free to attend, include a tour of the BBC Studios, plus seminars which draw in expertise from well-established organisations such as Soulsound, BECTU and the Association of Lighting Designers.
Visitors to Leeds will have the opportunity to join a tour of the BBC Yorkshire production facility, hosted by Mike Buttery, operations manager of BBC Look North. The tour will cover the TV and radio studios, TV editing facilities and 'CAR' engineering department. The Netherlands - Prolyte Group continues to innovate and will launch a new truss type at the Prolight+Sound exhibition in Frankfurt (4-7 April).

USA - ETC is kicking off a new era in upper stage machinery with the introduction of the P2 hoist, the newest addition to ETC’s Prodigy family.
The compact, 130-kilogram P2 fixed-speed hoist has a 300-kilogram load capacity and can be used as a complete system by itself, or it can be combined with larger hoists in a hybrid system. Using 5mm lift wire rope, it offers 15m of travel with up to eight lift lines. The show is the brainchild of Jim Steinman and rock superstar Meat Loaf - a romantic adventure about rebellious youths. The Microgaming stand and bar designed and produced by event.live had a daily change in set design to encourage repeat footfall and stand out from the visually competitive surrounding stands. The final day of the show engaged delegates with a castle-themed bar, utilising Blackout’s rigging expertise to suspend a number of chandeliers from one half of the truss grid above the bar to surround guests with in-keeping decor, whilst being entertained by professional sandcastle sculptors organised by Microgaming.

Norway - ViFlyr is a new permanent exhibition at the Norwegian Aviation Museum which details the history of civil aviation within Norway. Truly a part of modern Norwegian culture and history, aviation has linked the country together, overcoming the mountainous terrain.
When Michael Loftus, curator at the museum and the man responsible for the care of the exhibits, was briefed with the task of preparing and suspending the aircraft, he brought Unusual Rigging on board to come up with an effective solution that would show off the objects to maximum effect while ensuring that each item was conserved and protected.
