"There are many reasons why we chose these fixtures," explained Edward Helliwell, head of lighting, "but the main reason is that they are incredibly punchy, small in size but big in effect. They respond well to commands and the pre-programmed effects in them make it easy for our volunteers to use. I also like the three LED Zones that allow for various colour chases.
"We originally looked at getting eight fixtures, but when we saw them in action we felt that 26 would be a better option."
Rivers have built a substantial Robe retinue over the years and the new Robin 100 LEDs have given the auditorium a brand new look. "At Rivers Church the atmosphere we create during worship is very important and we cannot afford a meeting not to run because we have lighting issues. The professional setup helps us achieve that," said Helliwell.
"We have the confidence that nothing will break down during a crucial part of the meeting and take way from the experience from the congregation. With a professional setup our volunteers using the equipment have peace of mind that everything is going to be stable and help us glorify God in what we do."
Established in 1992, Rivers Church has grown from a congregation of 70 people to currently exceeding 15 000 members. Their current auditorium is a comfortable yet contemporary setting with the emphasis of making people feel at home. A new auditorium is currently being built due to the rapid expansion of the church.
