''RML understand that LAMDA students are the future of our Industry and so it is imperative that they are given the tools to develop to the best of their abilities and shown the best and most recent in moving light technology. It is also a great privilege to be involved with such a prestigious institution such as LAMDA,'' says Steve Wells, operations manager, RML.
As part of this partnership RML will provide lights for their performances/productions, donate equipment for training, offer work placements throughout the year and Play Days for the students to come to our demo room and gain practical experience with things such as LED products. Such a hands on approach and opportunity compliment the ethos of LAMDA.
Rob Young, Course Director at LAMDA comments, "LAMDA is delighted to have Richard Martin Lighting (RML) as our principal lighting partner.
"Our partnership gives LAMDA's Stage Management & Technical Theatre students regular access to cutting edge moving light and LED technology, allowing student lighting designers to incorporate this technology within their designs and for our technicians to use it in LAMDA's public productions.
"Working with RML also offers additional training opportunities for our students, familiarising them with the latest equipment and providing a thorough introduction to lighting for television. LAMDA and its students are hugely grateful for this invaluable support."
RML and LAMDA recently launched the new bond at the Academy's Open Day which was held at The Old Vic Tunnels on Saturday 23 February. They are currently in house there with their annual musical which this year is Parade
