Dock 10 in Salford Manchester has fast become the home of children's television and so who better to be in the seat for designing the lighting show, than Lee Allen who is now so involved with the studios and CBBC that he even has a second home in the area!
It's always so exciting when a new LD gets hold of show, just to see what they will do with it and Big Friday Wind-Up is no exception.
The set and lighting is bright and bold, the perfect back drop for the fun and games that take part on the show. Lee's lighting rig, supplied by Richard Martin Lighting (RML) is a mix of the old and the new, including VL2000 Wash, Golden Scans, Mini Scans, Nexus 4x4, Chroma Flood TC's, Pixel Brick kits and VL2416s.
Lee comments: "The big advantage of the mirror lamp is the lack of swing on the lighting bars when moving the lamp. The speed of the mirror on the mini scan on the truss makes fast moving effects and something we haven't see for a while.
The hard edge of the beam of the mini makes it a completely different look to the robe 100 fluffy beam of last year. The Nexus 4x4 panels work well with the set as it has round holes in it, so the Nexus 4x4 continue the set fell on the truss."
